Richard L. Harrington, 77, of House Springs died July 16, 2026, in Cedar Hill. Mr. Harrington served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1966 to1970, serving with the 1st Marine Division and the 5th Marine Division. He was a former sergeant and non-commissioned officer, a two-tour combat Vietnam veteran and a Purple Heart recipient. He also was formerly employed and retired from a paper distributing and packaging company in St. Louis from 1970 to 1993. He will be remembered for his love and devotion to family. Born March 3, 1949, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Charles F. Harrington and the late Helen C. (Bowen) Harrington.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Helen J. (Uhl) Harrington.
He is survived by a brother: Dennis C. Harrington; and many close friends.
He also was preceded in death by siblings: Vernon P. Lawson, George S. Lawson and James R. Lawson.
Visitation is scheduled from 3-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
