Richard David Self Jr., 62, of Bonne Terre died July 4, 2025, in St. Francois County. Mr. Self was a carpenter and a member of Carpenters Local 1770. Born Oct. 21, 1962, in Crystal City, he was the son of Richard David Sr. and Vera Ann (Lewis) Self of Bonne Terre.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a child: Ellie Marie Self of Pacific; a sibling: Michael Sean (Theresa) Self of Festus; a nephew: Michael William Self of Festus; and his former wife: Grace Self of Catawissa.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, July 10, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
