Peter Michael Janky, 80, of De Soto died Dec. 25, 2023, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Janky was a retired welder at Union Pacific Railroad. Born March 9, 1943, in Omaha, Neb., he was the son of the late Emil and Arlene (Slavik) Janky.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Frances (Craven) Janky.
He is survived by three daughters: Katherine (Scott) Pachunka of Omaha, Neb., Susan (the late Pasquale) Signorino of Ballwin and Kristine (Dan) Gronborg of De Soto; two sisters: Paulette (Tom) Bogacz of and Pamela Janky, both of Omaha, Neb.; six grandchildren: Dr. Joseph (Erin) Pachunka, Emily (Mason) Parriott, Hannah (Colin Finnegan) Pachunka, Allison Pachunka, Payton Gronborg and Colton Gronborg; and two great-granddaughters: Ella Pachunka and Emma Parriott.
He also was preceded in death by a brother: Patrick Janky.
Memorial mass will take place at a later date in Omaha, Neb. Memorials may be made to St. Rose of Lima, 504 S. 3rd St., De Soto or St. Vincent De Paul, 324 S. 2nd St., De Soto, 63020. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
