Paul David Williams, 81, of Festus died Feb. 21, 2024, at his home. Mr. Williams was a member of Our Lady Catholic Church in Festus where he was a part of the choir for 18 years. He was also a lector and minister, and he helped with parish picnics and fish fries. He had also been active at the former Assumption Church in Herculaneum. In addition to his church affiliations, he was also a member of the K of C Council 14402, the Elks 1721 and the Joachim Golf Club. He volunteered at Jeff Co. Toys & More and the Twin City Optimist Club. He enjoyed woodworking and golfing. Born Jan. 25, 1943, in Festus, he was the son of the late Cleo Helen (McMullin) and Joseph Romuald “Buck” Williams.
He is survived by his wife: Judith A. (Gendron) Williams; three children: Kevin Paul (Christine) Williams of Plano, Texas, Beth (Jason) Clark of Bonne Terre and Chris Roesch of Festus; five siblings: Annetta Lucille (Edward) Johnson of Aurora, Colo., Mary F. (Fred) Thoelke of Crystal, N.D., Stephen L. (Jayne) Williams of Hillsboro, Carol G. (the late Jim) Bonner of Maryland Heights and Joan M. Boyer of Festus; and five grandchildren: Britne (Bob Segal) Howard, Brandon (Marie) White, Jordan Williams, Camryn Williams and Isabella Roesch.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Lloyd Duane Williams and John R. (the late Thelma) Williams.
Visitation is scheduled from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 26, at Our Lady Catholic Church, 1550 Saint Marys Lane, in Festus. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society or the Ozark Food Pantry. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
