Clark, Paul

Paul Alexis Clark, 94, of Fenton died Sept. 13, 2025. Mr. Clark grew up in South St. Louis and spent a large part of his childhood in Leopold with his grandparents and great-grandparents. He married Janet on April 21, 1952, and they bought their forever home in Fenton in 1962. He served in the Navy as a tailor from 1949 to 1952. After the Navy, he was the manager of the Navy Exchange in Hutchinson, Kan. Throughout his early adult life, he worked in sales for Shapleigh Hardware and several insurance companies. He began working at McDonnell-Douglas in 1967 and retired in 1992 as a senior engineer. He started an amusement business in 1966 with Happy Flowers and Spin-Art pictures, and in 1974, began buying amusement rides, growing his “hobby” into a business that he enjoyed for decades. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Fenton since 1959. He was active in the Men’s Club, Knights of Columbus and numerous fundraising committees. He cofounded St. Paul’s first senior choir with his wife. In retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife to Europe, exploring Germany, Switzerland and Austria. He also became an avid collector of both Anheuser-Busch and German beer steins and belonged to the St. Louis chapter of Gateway Steiners. Born Nov. 10, 1930, he was the son of the late Francis and Margarite (Paul) Clark.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Janet (Eckenfels) Clark.

He is survived by two children: Paula Spatafora and Stacy (John Johnston) Moore; five grandchildren: Jennifer (Scott) Kaufman, Samuel Spatafora, Chadwick Geimer, Victoria Muilenburg and Emily (Leo) Denny; six great-grandchildren: Tyler (Ashley), Hayden, Noah, Sonny (Zoe), Madison and Amelia; five great-great-grandchildren: Jaxson, Parker, Wesley, Kade and Cooper; and many other family members and friends.

He also was preceded in death by four siblings: Betty (Richard) Drafal, David (Glenda) Clark Sr., William (Maria) Clark and Jerry (Dorothy) Clark.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, at Fieser Funeral Home, 401 Gravois Road, in Fenton. An additional visitation is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 15 Forest Knoll Drive, in Fenton.  Burial will be in St. Marcus Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fieser Funeral Home.
