Patricia B. (Derderian) Schwan, 94, of Chesterfield died March 1, 2024, at her home. Born Dec. 21, 1929, in Oakland, Calif., Mrs. Schwan was the daughter of the late Esther (Markarian) and Harry Derderian.
She is survived by her husband: CDR Harold C. Schwan, USN (Retd.): three children: Kurt (Suzanne) Schwan, Erica Schwan and Erik Schwan; five grandchildren: Jenna (Grant) Meyer, Chris (Theresa) Schwan, Andrew (Bailey) Schwan, Kate Schwan and Christopher Wheat; an honorary grandchild: Isabella Christian; and nine great-grandchildren: Natalie, Roman, Conrad, Adelaide, Gemma, Sam, Abe, Teddy and Archer.
She was preceded in death by a sibling: George Abraham.
A private roadside service will take place in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation or the St. Louis Society for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Arrangements are under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home in Ballwin.
