Pat Templeton, 86, of Festus died June 2, 2025. Mrs. Templeton was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Horine. She also was a member of the Browne Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in Potosi for more than 50 years. She worked as a secretary in the construction business and taught business administration classes at Crystal City High School. She will be remembered for her strength, compassion and heart. Born Jan. 3, 1939, in Biggers, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Carl Hosford “Hos” Brooks and Chrystal (Hatley) Brooks.
She is survived by her husband and high school sweetheart: James Harlan Templeton, whom she married on Feb. 22, 1958; three sons: Jon (Steven), Mark (Dana) and Michael (Kim) Templeton; five grandchildren: Amanda, Sara, Meghan, Kyle and Brooks; nine great-grandchildren; a brother: Carl Lee Brooks; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a grandson: Brandon Templeton; and great-granddaughter: McKenna Templeton.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. until a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 5, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Chris Lybarger of Arnold. Burial and graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. in Randolph Memorial Gardens in Pocahontas, Ark. Memorials may be made to Mercy Jefferson Hospice. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
