Oparree “Leona” Qualls, 84, of Cedar Hill died July 16, 2024. Mrs. Qualls loved caring for and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted Pentecostal and found comfort and purpose in her faith. She had a zest for life and was often found enjoying a lively game of poker. She was known for her unique personality, big heart and fun and onery spirit. Born Oct. 30, 1939, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Charles C. and Oparree A. (Taylor) Morgan.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Rubin Qualls Jr. whom she married in 1956.
She is survived by three children: Rubin (Kathy) Qualls, Jamie (William Glass) Qualls and Guy (Carol) Qualls; 10 grandchildren: Dannielle, Stephanie, Joshua, Jennifer, Ashley, Christopher, Meagan, Guy, Nicole and Brandon; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by two children: Cindy Lee Qualls and Connie Marie Qualls; and three brothers: Clarence Morgan, Douglas Morgan and Keith Morgan.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Monday, July 22, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. A funeral ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, at the mortuary. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
