Opal Vivian Douglas, 84, of De Soto died July 16, 2025, at de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis. Mrs. Douglas worked as a cook. Born March 12, 1941, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Leas and Martha (Aders) Leas Drennen.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Floyd Robert Douglas.
She is survived by four children: Barbara Salter, Bryan Douglas, Lisa Douglas and Pam Douglas, all of De Soto; three grandchildren: Crisska (Michael) Novotny of Texas; Chloe Douglas-Voss of De Soto and Grace Douglas-Voss of De Soto; four great-grandchildren: Raven, Mikey, Winter and Elias; a special, “sister-like” friend: Pearl (Gene) Frost; and many other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by four siblings: Thelma “Fern” Coleman, Earl Leas, Arthur “Harvey” Leas and Sylvia Leas.
Visitation is scheduled from noon until a funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. The family expresses their gratitude for the support shown to them. Memorials may be made to de Greeff Hospice House, 10024 Kennerly Road, St. Louis, 63128 or Grace Lutheran Church, 121 W.
