Dunkin, Nancy

Nancy Ellis Dunkin, 83, of Crystal City, formerly of Wright City, died May 18, 2025. Mrs. Dunkin retired as a factory worker and then went to work for McDonald’s in Wright City. She was a member of the Teamsters Union. Born Sept. 24, 1941, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Gertrude Laverne Douglas and Ernest “Slim” Ellis.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years: Howard Dunkin, whom she married in December of 1960 in St. Louis.

She is survived by a child: Wendy (Mike Minard) Dunkin of Crystal City; a sibling: JoAnn Ellis Williams of Warrenton; two grandchildren: Nikki (Rich) Cibulka-Carter of St. Louis and

Michael (Brittani) Cibulka of Crystal City; two great-grandchildren: Joseph Cibulka

and Aubree Cibulka; her dog: Max; and two cats: Long John and Scooby; and many other family members and friends.

She also was preceded in death by a child: Kelly Brandon Dunkin; four siblings: Ray Ellis, Verna Mae “Sissy” Ellis, Ruth Beutel and Ernest Ellis Jr.; and her best friend since 1950: Glenna.

A funeral service was held May 24 at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home in West Plains. Burial was in Howell County Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Open Door Animal Sanctuary in House Springs. Arrangements were under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
