Nadine Velda Sebastian, 80, of De Soto died April 24, 2026. Mrs. Sebastian retired from the De Soto School District after 24 years in education. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for VFW Post 1831. She enjoyed planting, taking care of the flowers in her garden, watching birds, sewing, listening to Elvis and, most of all, spending time with family and friends. Born Nov. 17, 1945, in Sibley, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Stanley H.F. Roesler and Velda Florence Marie (Hacker) Roesler.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Isaac S. “Sam” Sebastian Sr.
She is survived by two sons: Scott (Claudia) Hanson of Lake Park, Minn., and Isaac (Jony) Sebastian Jr. of De Soto; six daughters: Lisa (Mike) Pakovich of Morrisonville, Ill., Lori (Scott) Gowan of Hillsboro, Lynn (Mike) Stephan of De Soto, Sharon (Sascha) Davis of Castle Rock, Colo., Elaine (Harley DeClue) Sebastian of Festus and Harley (Cat Tucker) Sebastian of Festus; three brothers: Gerard (Denise) Roesler of Florida, Craig (Virginia) Roesler of Arizona and Curtis (Linda) Roesler of Iowa; a sister: Jocelyn (Tony) Bechem of Austin, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until services at noon Saturday, May 9, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1620 Boyd St., in De Soto, officiated by Pastor Mike Rose. Burial will follow in Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4207 Lindell Blvd., St. Louis, 63108. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.
