Michael Gary McMurray, 80, of De Soto died April 14, 2025, at his home. Mr. McMurray was a retired chief, fire marshal and assistant chief of the Eureka Fire Protection District. He also was a past member of the Elks Lodge and Lions Club. He was Catholic and attended St. Rose of Lima Church. Born Oct. 17, 1944, in Wentzville, he was the son of the late Helen (Kenner) and Herbert C. McMurray.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Virginia (Tedesco) McMurray; two children: Michele (Kenny) Briggs and Patti (Toby) Miller; three siblings: Thomas (Lee) McMurray, Judith (Gene) Grabbe and Jeffrey (Rita) McMurray; four grandchildren: Joshua Briggs, Michaela Briggs, Jessica (Kaylee) Hawk and Toby Miller II; many great-grandchildren, other family members and friends.
A funeral Mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, April 25, at Immaculate Conception, 111 N. Washington Ave., in Union, officiated by Father Peter Blake. Memorials may be made to The BackStoppers, Inc.
