Michael Anthony “Mike” Chew Sr., 63, of Plato died Dec. 12, 2025, at his home following a short battle with cancer. Mr. Chew attended school in Cuba, Mo. He pursued careers in construction, sanitation, auto repair and over-the-road truck driving. He and his family owned and operated 63 Roadhouse in Licking. He enjoyed reminiscing about his travels, being outdoors, mowing the lawn, fishing and deer hunting with his longtime friend, Walter Beal, and stepson-in-law. A music lover, he also enjoyed singing karaoke and attending concerts at the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia in the summer. Born Feb. 6, 1962, in Rolla, he was the son of Marcella Sansoucie of Blackwell and the late Robert “Bob” Chew.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife: Susan Spector of Plato; a brother: Randy Chew; five children: Michael Jr., Jason, Christopher, Jamie and Cody; a stepdaughter: Lisa (Kyle) Lambert; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Bob Chew; two sisters: Donna Williams and Darlene Chew; and two stepfathers: Leon Hassell and Charlie Sansoucie.
Visitation is scheduled from noon until services at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Evans Funeral Home, 224 S. Grand Ave., in Houston. Interment will follow in West Wind Cemetery in Plato. Arrangements are under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
