Mary Olive Booker, 92, of Patton died Nov. 16, 2024, at the Independence Care Center in Perryville. Mrs. Booker preferred to stay home and take care of her family. In later years, she worked as a cook and dishwasher at the Traveler’s Cafe in De Soto. She enjoyed reading, camping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Born Feb. 5, 1932, in Martinsville, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Howard and May (Halfaker) White.
She was preceded in death by her husband: James E. Booker Sr., whom she married on May 18, 1967, in St. Louis.
She is survived by her 13 children and stepchildren: Don (Jill) Haddock, Mary Ann Hornaday, Norma J. Haddock, Barbara Ellis, Cindy Johnson, James (Patricia) Booker, Anna (Patrick) Guay, Mary (James) Davis, James Booker Jr., Nancy Colleli, Kathy Ames, Rhonda Bradbury and Carol Booker; 29 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by a son: James Lee Haddock; a daughter: Betty S. Haddock; a stepdaughter: Judy Bartlet-Gunn; two brothers: Howard White Jr. and William Richardson; and four sisters: Louis Cazee, Jenny Plumber, Ruth Losh and Hattie Moon.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at Wilson Funeral Home, 101 N. Mine La Motte Ave., in Fredericktown. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Otis Long. Burial will be in Rowland Hills Cemetery in Patterson. Arrangements are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.
