Mary M. O’Brien, 88, of House Springs died April 27, 2025, in Cedar Hill. Mrs. O’Brien will be remembered for her grace, kindness and generosity. She was known for lending a helping hand and caring for others, especially her mother-in-law, husband, daughter and granddaughter. She also was known for her unforgettable birthday parties, holiday gatherings and meals she prepared. Devoted to her faith, she rarely missed a Sunday Mass. Born May 5, 1936, in Catawissa, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Marie Alma (Bolte) Jahnsen.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Eugene O’Brien.
She is survived by two sons: Mark O’Brien and Patrick (Lindsey) O’Brien; two grandchildren: Erin and Sabrina; three great-grandchildren: Deacon, Cora and Isla; and several step-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a daughter: Ellen O’Brien.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, in Cedar Hill. A funeral ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, May 1, at Our Lady Queen of Peace, 4696 Notre Dame Lane, in House Springs, with a short burial service to follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
