Mary C. Ganninger, 89, of De Soto died Dec. 25, 2025, at Crystal Oaks Nursing Facility in Crystal City. Ms. Ganninger was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in De Soto and Daughters of Isabella Circle 659. She also helped with the De Soto Railroad Employees Memorial. Born Sept. 9, 1936, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Charles Francis and Matilda Mary (Emily) Ganninger.
She is survived by five siblings: Elizabeth Hudson of St. Louis, Helen Fears of O’Fallon, Nancy Ott of Farmington, Patrick Ganninger of Festus and Paul Ganninger of St. Louis; her nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Agnes Warden.
Visitation is scheduled from 9-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 504 S. Third St., in De Soto, officiated by Father Rodger Fleming. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
