Marilyn Jean “Bam” Tripp, 80, of De Soto died April 29, 2024, at her home. Mrs. Tripp was a system analyst for Union Pacific Railroad. Born Nov. 30, 1943, in Little Rock, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Margueryte (Phillips) and Doyle Fooks. She was the stepdaughter of the late Ona Mae Fooks.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Darrell D. “Sammy” Tripp.
She is survived by three children: Angela (Darryl) Carron of French Village, Kevin (Dina) Tripp of Bloomsdale and Jeff (Michelle) Tripp of De Soto; two brothers: Gary Fooks of Indigo Circle, Fla., and Ron Fooks of Apopka, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
She also was preceded in death by a son: Keith Tripp; a brother: Steve Fooks; and a granddaughter: Camryn “Cam” Tripp.
Visitation is scheduled from 2 p.m. until a funeral service at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 2, at Journey Community Church, 820 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral procession will form at 9 a.m. Friday, May 3, at the church and will lead to a graveside service at 10:15 a.m. in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
