Marilyn (Donovan) Medvik Vollmer, 81, of Washington, Mo., died Nov. 2, 2024. Ms. Vollmer cherished her family and found great joy in making others laugh. Committed to helping others, she was a dedicated volunteer at Peace by Piece. She had a passion for antiques and thrift sales. She was a member of Faith Community Church in House Springs until she moved to Washington, Mo., where she became a member of the First United Methodist Church of Washington. She will be remembered for her warmth, humor, joy and lightheartedness. Born June 28, 1943, in St. Louis, she was the 2nd of 13 children to the late George and Marian (Hoffman) Donovan.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth Medvik Sr.
She is survived by four children: Kenneth (Tina) Medvik Jr., Kevin Medvik, Donna (Jim) Hovis and Julie (Jeff) Johns; eight grandchildren: Kevin Medvik, Matthew Medvik, Mary Medvik, Emily Allen, Dylan Medvik, Ryan Medvik, Donovan Johns and Colton Johns; five great-grandchildren: Piper, Olivia, CJ, Vada, Riley and a soon-to-be great-grandson; five siblings: Patricia (the late John) Rizzello, Maureen (Jim) Cormican, Timothy Donovan, Cecily “Cissy” (the late Robert) Pilger and Robert (Tammy) Donovan; three sisters-in-law: Dorothy Donovan, Linda Donovan and Monica Medvik; and numerous other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by parents-in-law: John and Margorie (Cox) Medvik; a daughter: Kim Medvik; seven siblings: Judith Barteau, George Donovan Jr., James Donovan, Pamela Lancaster, Barbara Torbitsky, Thomas Donovan and Michael Donovan; and three brothers-in-law: Michael Medvik, Richard Medvik and Steven Medvik.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
