Marie Edith Ottomeyer, 90, of Hillsboro died Nov. 22, 2023. Mrs. Ottomeyer was a seamstress during her working career. She loved sewing, quilting, crocheting and anything to do with thread or yarn. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Operating Engineers Retiree's Club Local 513. Born June 2, 1933, in Vineland, she was the daughter of the late Seraphine Earl and Edith Marie (Politte) Solomon.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years: John David Ottomeyer of Hillsboro;  two sons: Daniel L. (Darlene Belote) Ottomeyer of Affton and Darrel J. (Jill) Ottomeyer of Oakville; a daughter: Linda M. (John) Zingsheim of Imperial; three brothers: Earl (Ginger) Solomon of Hillsboro, Willard (Sharon) Solomon of Imperial and David (Freida) Solomon of Festus; three sisters: Imogene Renick of De Soto, Paula (Carl) Dodson of Festus and Dianne (Jake) Mahn of Festus; eight grandchildren: Jacqui R. Kaplan, Jennifer R. Hall, Adam B. Zingsheim, Daniel V. Ottomeyer, Dr. Megan E. Ottomeyer, Matthew D. Ottomeyer, Nathan J. Ottomeyer and Hailey M. Ottomeyer; six great-grandchildren: Edith P. Kaplan, Marjorie F. Kaplan, Ethan B. Zingsheim, Isabella A. Zingsheim, Miriam E. Hall and Hugo D. Hall; and numerous other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by two sons: John D. Ottomeyer II and Dennis A. Ottomeyer; a brother: Gerald Solomon; and two sisters: Maxine Drennen and Patty Wickerham.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main St. and Mahn Ave., in De Soto. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, in De Soto, officiated by Father Rodger Fleming. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 58105. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
