Marie D. Hoff, 91, of De Soto died April 6, 2024, at her home. Mrs. Hoff worked as a waitress at the Three Maples and was a cook at the De Soto McDonalds. Born April 12, 1932, in Blackwell, she was the daughter of the late Sylvia (Bequette) and Abraham Emily.
She was preceded in death by her husband: James Otis Hoff Jr.
She is survived by five children: Robert (Beverly) Hoff of St. Cloud, Fla., David (Brenda) Hoff of Farmington, Nancy (Richard) McCabe of Van Alstyne, Texas, Shane Hoff of De Soto and Kevin (Karen) Hoff of De Soto; two siblings: Ted Emily of Shady Valley and Wendell Emily of Potosi; a sister-in-law: Ann Emily of Potosi; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a son: James Hoff III; a brother: Joseph Emily; a sister: Mary Ann Brewer; and two sisters-in-law: Connie Emily and Marilyn Emily.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N Main, in De Soto. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, April 11, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
