Marcia (James) Hubbard, 74, of Cedar Hill died Oct. 17, 2023. Mrs. Hubbard was a hairdresser during the 1970s-80s for Kut N Kurl Salon. She worked for Sunny Hill and Jefferson College. She was a children’s advocate for higher quality teaching, for better health and for better lives. She was also a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. With her husband, she traveled through 34 states over the course of 30 years by motorcycle. She enjoyed motorcycling, gardening, carpentry, home decorating, traveling, being a tailor-seamstress, genealogy and spending time with family and friends. Born Aug. 13, 1949, in Corning, Ark., she was the daughter of Vallie (Brooks) James and the late Curmel “Red” James.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 55 years: Virgil Hubbard; two daughters: Renee Hubbard and Dana (Bob) Hahn; three grandchildren: Christopher Devantier, Jonathan Devantier, and Avery Brasher; three siblings: Linda James (Tom) Piatchek, Mickey James (the late Steven) Fenwick, and Ronnie (Vicky) James.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a service at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to MSUD Family Support Group, 958 Medinah Terrace, in Columbus, Ohio, 43235. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
