M. Paulette Northcutt, 82, of De Soto died March 1, 2026, at de Greef Hospice House in St. Louis County. Mrs. Northcutt was a homemaker and a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella Circle 659. Born April 14, 1943, in Bonne Terre, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Margarita (Perrier) Whitener.
She was preceded in death by her first husband: Sgt. Donald Ames; and her second husband: Alvin Northcutt Sr.
She is survived by three children: Linda Ames of Moberly, Gail (Albert Santoscoy Jr.) Ames of St. Charles and Michael (Donna) Ames of St. Charles; two stepsons: Alvin “Corky” (Joyce) Northcutt Jr. of De Soto and Kenneth (Kris) Northcutt of De Soto; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.
She also was preceded in death by a daughter: Carol Ames; and a stepdaughter: Brenda Howell.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, at St. Rose of Lima Church, 504 S. Third St., in De Soto, officiated by Father Rodger Fleming. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
