Louis A. "Butch" Viehman, 72, of Desloge died March 12, 2026. Mr. Viehman retired as a quality supervisor for Union Pacific Railroad and was a member of De Soto Christian Church. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf. Born April 13, 1953, in Bonne Terre, he was the son of the late Josephine "Louise" (Solomon) and Jack A. Viehman.
He is survived by his wife: Susan (Snyder) Viehman of Desloge; three children: Jeff (Jill) Viehman of De Soto, Michelle Viehman of Farmington and Tara Viehman of Phoenix, Ariz.; two stepchildren: Aaron (the late Stephanie) Hinkley of Cadet and Stephanie Busby of De Soto; six grandchildren: Brandon (Tiffany) Viehman, Grant (Kate) Viehman, Caitlyn Smith, Alexis Smith, Timothy Harmon and Ava Viehman; four step-grandchildren: Micah Hinkley, Aaden Hinkley, Abby Hinkley and Leah Busby; three great-grandchildren: Zeke Viehman, Ellie Viehman and Lizzie Sloma; two siblings: Karen (Marvin) Williams of De Soto and Kenneth (Leanne) Viehman of Hamel, Ill.; his mother-in-law: Eunice (the late Marvin) Snyder of Ironton; and two sisters-in-law: Sandy (Jerry) Carosella of Grand Junction, Colo., and Melanie (Alan) Dunham of Ironton.
He was preceded in death by his first wife: Janet (Mackley) Viehman; and a brother: Roger Viehman.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until services at noon on Wednesday, March 18, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by Matt Sutman. Inurnment will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to De Soto Christian Church, 4151 Fountain City Road, De Soto, 63020. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
