Lois Virginia Gilliam, 90, of Festus died March 31, 2025, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Gilliam worked in customer services management for Kmart until her retirement. She enjoyed doing word searches and spending time with her family. Born Sept. 27, 1934, in Ojibway, she was the daughter of the late Walter Moore and Virginia E. (Clay) Moore.
She was preceded in death by her first husband: Curtis C. Zolman; and her second husband: George Albert Gilliam Sr.
She is survived by a daughter: Brenda (Jim) Leach of Festus; a stepson: George A. (Karen) Gilliam Jr. of Lee's Summit; a brother: Monty (Delores) Moore of Festus; a sister-in-law: Barb Moore of Troy; seven grandchildren: Tami, Kim, Aimee, Ryan, Missy, Jenny and Amber; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by three brothers: Harold Moore, Russell Moore and Lloyd Moore.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.
