Lois Jean Olson, 67, of Festus died Dec. 29, 2024, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Olson worked as a childcare provider for Noah’s Ark Daycare in St. Louis and was devoted to her family. Born May 11, 1957, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Joyce Ann (Bieller) and James Robert Turner.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Richard Olson.
She is survived by a son: Charles “Chuck” (Heather) McCallum of Hillsboro; two daughters: Angela (Michael) Sutter of House Springs and Danielle Olson of St. Clair; a brother: Ronald Chamness of De Soto; three sisters: Kathy (Ronald) Cox of Pevely, Yvonne (Mike) Parr of Festus and Charlotte (Jim) Kertz of De Soto; five grandchildren: Cora McCallum, Braxton McCallum, Clara McCallum, Kyrie Orrick and Samuel Orrick; a great-grandchild: Colbi McCallum; and numerous other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by a daughter: Jessica Olson; and a brother: Michael Chamness.
Services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
