Lisa E. Roberts, 61 of De Soto died May 22, 2025. Mrs. Roberts worked as a special education teacher for the De Soto School District and the Sunrise R-9 School District, where she was known for her patience, understanding and love of learning. She was a member of Primrose Baptist Church in Bonne Terre. She loved traveling, exploring new places and creating memories with her husband. She was an avid reader and could often be found engrossed in multiple books at once. Detail-oriented and creative, she also enjoyed quilting. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness and compassion. Born Dec. 5, 1963, in Ironton, she was the daughter of Helen (Dunn) Barton and the late Donald Barton.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 21 years: Steve Roberts; two children: Stephen (Paula) Roberts and Johnathan (Gina) Roberts; eight grandchildren: Ashley (Chaz) Johnson, Austin (Skyler) Roberts, Justin (Launa) Roberts, Rachel Roberts, James Coatney, Eric Coatney, Dustin Talley and Dylan Talley; five great-grandchildren; two siblings: Mark (Carol) Barton and Lorie Golden; in-laws: Charles and Tina Roberts, Clairese Simshauser, Daniel Roberts, Sandra Blacklance and Tammy Roberts; many nieces and nephews; and numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by granddaughter: Jordynn Roberts; a brother: Donnie Barton; and in-laws: Linda Roberts, Keith Golden, Charles Simshauser and Robin Blacklance.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until services at noon Tuesday, May 27, at Primrose Baptist Church, 9308 Hwy. E, in Bonne Terre. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of C Z Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge.
