Linda K. Johnston, 71, of De Soto died June 29, 2024, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Ms. Johnston worked at the De Soto Shoe Factory. She was known for her helpful heart and playful spirit. Born March 25, 1953, in Robertsville, she was the daughter of Thelma Catherine (King) and John Arthur Pitzer.
She was preceded in death by her longtime companion: John Davis.
She is survived by two sisters: Phyllis (Gene) Messex of Festus and Joan (Jim) Sampson of De Soto; a brother: Larry (Dante) Pitzer Sr. of Ste. Genevieve; nine nieces and nephews: Rhonda Kelso, John Messex, Amy Westfall, Pam King, Laura Winstead, Brian “Fred” Pitzer, Amanda Reeder, Nicole Lalumondiere and Andria Reyes; several great nieces and nephews; two granddaughters: Brittany Webber and Monica Glass; and four great-grandchildren, two of which she helped raise: CJ and Aubrey Hunt.
She also was preceded in death by a son: Douglas Lynn Webber; a brother: Kenny Pitzer; a nephew: Larry Pitzer Jr.; and a sister-in-law: Jackie Pitzer.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. A service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
