Lilburn Joseph “Butch” Cash, 77, of Bismarck died Feb. 9, 2026, at his home. Mr. Cash served in the U.S. Army and was a laborer for Brockmiller Construction. Born Dec. 28, 1948, in De Soto, he was the son of the late William Edward and Anna Bernice (Rickman) Cash.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Sandra (Smith) Cash.
He is survived by two children: Sonny Cash of Bismarck and Eddie Cash of Alabama; a stepdaughter: Cynthia (Joseph Miller) Cummings of Park Hills; four siblings: Helen Drennen of Ware, William (Mary) Cash II of Wood River, Ill., Robert (Pat) Cash of Henley and Pat (Charles) Robart of Festus; three grandchildren: Abigail Cash, Vicki (Nathan Leonard) Cummings and Robert Cummings; and two great-grandchildren: Jacob and Flynn.
He also was preceded in death by seven siblings: Charles Cash, Rosa (Robert) Duren, Mary (Nick) Grana, Clyde (Alice) Cash, Murphy (Norma) Cash, James Cash and Sandra (Donald) Null; and a brother-in-law: Charles Drennen.
A graveside service with military honors will take place at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
