Lila Mae Spradling, 75, of De Soto died Feb. 11, 2025, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Mrs. Spradling was a retired schoolteacher and a piano accompanist. She had played for many area churches and funerals over the years. She was a talented musician and a member of the Mt. Olive Global Methodist Church in De Soto. Born March 17, 1949, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late Lysle Franklin and Anna Mary (Lindsay) Filkins.
She is survived by her spouse: Leslie Spradling of De Soto, whom she married on Aug. 8, 1969, at St. Andrew’s Methodist Church in De Soto; three children: Weslie Lysle (Mary Jane Mills) Spradling of Des Moines, Iowa, Lindsay Ann (Tom) Webb of De Soto and Leslie Aleen Watts of Albuquerque, N.M.; and seven grandchildren: Lucas Watson, Gavin Watson, Ethan Watts, Evan Watts, Emma Watts, Harper Spradling and Egan Deschamps.
A memorial service was held Feb. 16 at Mt. Olive Global Methodist Church in De Soto. Memorials may be made to Mt. Olive Global Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 13675 Mt. Olive Road, De Soto, 63020. Arrangements were under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
