Levi Thomas Kaminskey Jr., 85, of Festus died Feb. 15, 2026, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Kaminskey served and retired from the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He loved animals, spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and watching Cardinals baseball. He also enjoyed being a member of the Civil War Reenactment in California. Born Aug. 26, 1940, in Fairmont, W.V., he was the son of the late Helen (Keck) and Levi Thomas Kaminskey Sr.
He is survived by wife: Gudrun (Schlegel) Kaminskey; three daughters: Kerry Ann Kaminskey of California, Kimberly Kaminskey of California and Frauke (Larry) Saunders of Festus; three grandchildren: Brandon (Heather), Tatiana (Codie) and Kyra (Matt); and two great-grandchildren: Arwen and Oliver.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 221 Brierton Lane, Festus, 63028, officiated by Pastor Kyle Castens. Interment with full military honors will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Festus. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
