Rodgers, Leonard

Leonard Eugene Rodgers, 65, of Eureka died Aug. 13, 2024, in Fenton. Mr. Rodgers was a dedicated Christian. As a carpenter, he was known for his fine skills and attention to detail. He was an avid reader and was often in the middle of a book, likely about American history or his favorite, the Bible. He enjoyed watching and talking about football. He loved his family and, most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Born July 1, 1959, in Ellisville, he was the son of the late Howard and Betty Rodgers.

He is survived by his wife: Sharon Kay (Curtis) Rodgers; two children: Anthony Rodgers and Elisabeth (Stephen) Houseknecht; two grandchildren: James and Joanna Houseknecht; five siblings: Bryant (Sonia) Rodgers, Marty Rodgers, Lavada Rodgers, Mary (Erwin) Kourik and Amy (Tom) Ailabouni; four siblings-in-law: Karen (the late Bill) Bokan, Kim (Kenny) Brand, Patti (Bob) Nantz and Jeff Curtis; a longtime friend: Tim Emmons; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by two siblings: Mitchell (Bertha) Patterson and Cameron Rodgers; parents-in-law: the Rev. James and Grace Curtis; and a sibling-in-law: Larry (Trina survives) Curtis.

Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a service at noon Saturday, Aug. 17, at Parkton Assembly of God Church, 1670 Old Hwy. M, in Barnhart. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Wildwood. Arrangements are under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home in Eureka.
