Lawrence Wayne Thrower, 86, of Festus died March 17, 2026, at his home. Mr. Thrower worked as a painter. He served in the Army National Guard. He enjoyed baseball, golf, fishing and watching the UConn women’s basketball. Born June 15, 1939, in Dexter, he was the son of the late Rena (Edwards) and Virgil Thrower.
He is survived by three children: Lana (David) Huelster of Festus, Laura (Jeff) Stewart of Hillsboro and Larry (Shannon) Thrower of Festus; a stepdaughter: Leanne (Doug) Million of Imperial; eight grandchildren: Justin Miller, Hannah (Patrick) Gaul, DJ (Jolynn) Huelster, Abby Huelster, Grant (Lila) Huelster, Quinn (Victoria) Thrower, Collon Wade and Caden Wade; four: great-grandchildren: Charlee, Edan, Audrey and Trip.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Genevieve (the late Claude) Rowark and Virginia (the late Lefty) Leathers; and a brother: Lloyd (Margie) Thrower.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
