Lawrence Lee Middleton, 78, of Bloomsdale died Aug. 10, 2025, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. Mr. Middleton worked as an over-the-road truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, gambling, watching movies and spending time with his dog. Born Feb. 23, 1947, in Miami, Fla., he was the son of the late Lawrence and Bettina Lee (Dickerson) Middleton.
He is survived by his wife: Jacqueline Marie Middleton of Piedmont; three daughters: Dawn M. (Paul) Stamer of Bloomsdale, Kathleen A. (Don Elkin) Middleton of Pacific and Laura A. (Jason) Benson of Dittmer; two stepdaughters: Sherri (Bob) Frazier of Houston, Texas, and Terri (Vince) Casey of Piedmont; a brother: Robert Rathbone of Miami, Fla.; a sister: Marina M. (Jose) Alvarez of Miami, Fla.; nine grandchildren: Daniel Middleton, Derrick Middleton, Devin Middleton, Josie Stamer, Lucas Haverstick, Isabella Middleton, Nicole Barnes, Dorothy Casey and Britney Mumper; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Eugene Madruga.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until services at noon Friday, Aug. 15, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., Festus, officiated by the Rev. Ryan Sutton. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
