Lutz, Kevin

Kevin J. Lutz, 53, of Dittmer died Sept. 27, 2025, in St. Louis. Mr. Lutz found joy in the simple pleasures of life and being outdoors. He loved fishing, camping and mushroom hunting. He was also a passionate collector, fascinated by the history of rare coins, arrowheads and unique swords. He was known for his big heart and for helping those in need, often putting others before himself. He loved to share his humor with others and watch his favorite shows on the Comedy Channel. A true animal lover, he had a soft spot for all creatures and treated them with kindness. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, joyful laughter and love for life. Born September 1, 1972, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Pierre Lutz and Eleanor (Katzenberger) Katz.

He is survived by two sisters: Kimberly (Brian) Eye and Karenda (Roderick “Rocky”) Mella; four nieces and nephews: Matt Eye, Nathaniel Mella, Chloe Mella and Kaeden Mella; and numerous other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother: Kenneth Lutz.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. A funeral ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at the mortuary. Interment will immediately follow in Fairview Church Cemetery in Grubville. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
