Doza, Kenneth

Kenneth Ray "Kenny" Doza, 83, of Cape Girardeau died June 23, 2024, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. Mr. Doza was a lifetime member of the NRA, a member of the Disabled American Veterans and American Legion Post 253 in Festus. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 through 1959. He received an associate art degree from Washington University in St. Louis and was an auto body specialist for most of his life. He was a survivalist and loved gardening, fishing, hiking, camping and anything to do with nature including hunting. He was an avid collector of many things and enjoyed fresh Oberle sausage. He loved spending time with and entertaining his children and grandchildren children. He will be remembered for his stories and his contagious laugh. Born July 25, 1940, in Crystal City, he was the son of the late Genevieve E. (Barbey) and Harry J. Doza.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Naomi I. Doza.

He is survived by a daughter: Yvonne M. (Jeffrey) Doza-Shepherd of Festus; a son: Scott A. (Donna) Doza; a sister: Janet M. (Bryan) Albaugh of Fulton; nine grandchildren: Brandon (Tasha) Reece of Cedar Hill, Carissa Kinder of Festus, Alaya Shepherd of Spokane, Wash., Landen Shepherd of Festus, Ciara Shepherd of Pevely, Malia Shepherd of Woodford, Va., Ashley, Allison and Alicia Doza, all of Bloomsdale; six great-grandchildren and one on the way; nieces and nephews: Trent (Yvonne) Patterson of Conran, Donna (Kris) Underwood of Hernando, Miss., Darryl Patterson of Portageville, Lisa (Britt) McClendon of Sikeston, Steve (Michelle) Albaugh of Fulton, Craig Doza of Ste. Genevieve; and many more family members and friends.

He also was preceded in death by a sister: Brenda L. (Elwood) Patterson of Portageville; a half-brother: Ronald Doza of St. Mary; and a nephew: John Albaugh of Fulton.

Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. until services at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 27, at Basler Funeral Home, 685 Center Drive, in Ste. Genevieve. Burial will follow in Bloomfield Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield. Memorials may be made to Missouri Veteran's Home- Cape Girardeau or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Basler Funeral Home.
