Kenneth Lee Langer Jr., 83, of House Springs died March 17, 2026. He was a proud alumnus of Northwest High School, where he played basketball and enjoyed attending reunions throughout the years. He served in the U.S. Army, where he also played basketball for his unit. He enjoyed being outdoors, working in the yard, cutting grass, chopping wood, building the perfect fire, and spending time with family and friends. Over the past year, he faced a difficult battle with pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer. He will be remembered for his strength, resilience, warmth, kindness and great sense of humor. Born Feb. 13, 1943, in St. Louis, he was the son of Frieda (Hertlein) Langer-Dahlgren and Kenneth Langer Sr.
He is survived by three children: Shelli (David) Martak, William R. Langer and Rebecca (Edward) Stallons; six grandchildren: Ella Martak, Alexa Martak, Dakota Woods, Samantha Eidson, Kennadie Stallons and Hunter Stallons; a great-grandchild: Penelope Crossen; two half-brothers: Derrill Langer and David Langer; a sibling-in-law: Cheryl Langer; his companion: Carol McDowell; and many cousins, other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a stepbrother: Richard (Joann) Belz.
A celebration of life is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, April 12, at Tapawingo National Golf Club, 13001 Gary Player Drive, in St. Louis. Memorials may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
