June Thomason, 98, of De Soto, formerly of St. Louis, died March 11, 2024, at Stonebridge Care Center in De Soto. Mrs. Thomason retired as a supervisor from Ballwin Regional Flag Co. Born June 24, 1925, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late August and Edna (Garrison) Griffith.
She was preceded in death by her first husband: Charles Claus; and her second husband: William “Bill” Thomason.
She is survived by a daughter: Cindy Hunt of De Soto; two sons: Stanley “Butch” (Joan) Claus of St. Charles and Murray Claus of St. Clair; a daughter-in-law: Janice Claus of Alabama; two brothers: Jack (Lorraine) Griffith of Manchester and Jerry Griffith of St. Louis; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by a daughter: Sandra Alvey; a son: Charles Claus; a son-in-law: Dale Hunt; a brother: August (Muriel) Griffith; and a sister-in-law: Mary Griffith.
Visitation is scheduled from 3 p.m. until funeral services at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at the Dietrich-Mothershead Chapel, 220 N. Main, in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. G. Michael Rose. Burial will take place at a later date in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the De Soto Senior Center, 221 S. Third St., De Soto, 63020. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
