June Laverne (Cage) Williams, 93, of Dittmer died June 29, 2024, at her home. Mrs. Williams was a devoted member of St. Martin’s UCC Church in Dittmer, serving as a Sunday school teacher and cradle roll caretaker for many years. She was a lifetime member of the Cedar Hill VFW Women’s Auxiliary and the Missouri Extension Club. She served as her family’s historian. She enjoyed nature and being outdoors, tending to her flowers, feeding the birds and squirrels, camping, traveling, “cutting a rug” to the sounds of big band music, holiday decorating, watching St. Louis Cardinal’s baseball games, cooking, hosting and spending time with family and friends. Born July 18, 1930, in Pevely, she was the daughter of the late Clyde T. and Elsie F. (Mirgain) Cage.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Lee Richard Williams.
She is survived by two children: Michael Lee (Joann) Williams and Andrew Clyde (Vicky) Williams; a daughter-in-law: Rene Williams; six grandchildren: Joshua (Christina) Williams, Christie (Matt) Kavanaugh, Justin (Nikki) Williams, Aaron (Jackie) Williams, Carrie (Rusty) Bishop and Charles Collins; a sister: Nancy Gibbs; a sister-in-law: Carolyn Williams; and 14 great-grandchildren: Coby, Hunter, Drew, Brady, Henry, Finley, Addison, Emma, Grant, Trent, Harrison, Haley, Joshua and Jessie.
She also was preceded in death by two sons: Baby Williams and David Gerard Williams; and four siblings: Thomas Cage, Edith Baranowski, Clifton Cage and Ralph Cage.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Visitation will continue from 8:30 a.m. until a funeral service at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, at the mortuary. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to St. Martin’s UCC Christian Education, 7890 Dittmer Ridge Road, Dittmer, 63023. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
