Doak, Judith

Judith Marie “Judy” Doak, 82, of Cedar Hill died Jan. 23, 2025. Ms. Doak was dedicated to providing and taking care of others. She wore many hats over the years, working as a beautician, a traveling saleswoman selling beauty supplies, a bartender and a customer service rep. Growing up as a city girl, she was excited to move to the country. In 1979 she found her dream home on a lake where she went on to raise three generations of children. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed being a grandmother and great-grandmother. She was known as a strong independent woman who handled whatever was thrown her way, often telling her children “we’ll get through it” when life got tough. She will be remembered for leading by example, cracking jokes, her determination and attention to detail. Born Dec. 23, 1942, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late James and Ruby (Thomas) Kreitler.

She is survived by five children: Deborah Hiduk, Diana Kube, Donna Doak, Mary Jane “MJ” (Ricky) Smith and Brittany Kube; and many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by a great-grandson: Keegan Cole Smith.

Instead of memorial donations, Ms. Doak asks for individuals to perform more acts of kindness towards others. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
