Wallich, Judith

Judith Ann (Mosby) Wallich, 77, of Eureka died on Oct. 12, 2025. Mrs. Wallich was a 1965 Affton High School graduate and a 1969 University of Missouri in Columbia graduate, where she received her bachelor of science degree in education. She was a teacher in the Northwest R-1 School District, teaching kindergarten, second and fourth grade at Cedar Springs, Maple Grove and Murphy Elementary Schools while raising her family with her husband in the Northwest community. She enjoyed sharing her love for learning with her students and her fellow educators. A Girl Scout leader for nearly a decade, she instilled a spirit of inclusion, an ability to make tasks fun, a sense of civic duty and a love of the outdoors in others. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace. In retirement, she stayed active as a volunteer by tutoring children and facilitating groups within the Parkinson’s research community, as well as small faith-based groups. She loved gardening, birdwatching and being in nature. She also loved reading, being on the water and spending time with her family, friends and neighbors. She will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, zest for life and love of adventures, especially the ones she went on with family and friends. Born Dec. 13, 1947, in St. Louis, she was the oldest of four siblings and the daughter of Samuel and Peggy (Coffman) Mosby.

She is survived by her husband: Rick Wallich, whom she met while attending Mizzou and married on Oct. 18, 1969, in Webster Groves; three children: Jenny (Ed) Baugh of Eureka, Tom (Melissa) Wallich of Omaha, Neb., and Tim (Christina) Wallich of Eureka; seven grandchildren: Madeline and Isabelle Baugh, and Rose, Jillian, Jackson, Maggie and Tommy Wallich; three siblings: Bonnie (Bill) Brechler of Katy, Texas, Scott (Judy) Mosby of Rio Verde, Ariz., and Gary Mosby of Kansas City; and many other family members and friends.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. A funeral ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4696 Notre Dame Lane, in House Springs. Memorials may be made in the form of planting something in your own garden or yard as a lasting tribute. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
