Josephine (Salamone) Jahnsen, 92, of Cedar Hill died April 22, 2025, in Pacific. Mrs. Jahnsen enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially cooking and hosting Sunday dinners. She was strong in her faith and loved her church community. She will be remembered for her love and generosity. Born March 19, 1933, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Barbara (Emth) and David Salamone.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Leo Jahnsen.
She is survived by nine children: Gina (Lou) Bohn, Steve (Denette) Jahnsen, Mike (Nancy) Jahnsen, Ann Marie (Ronnie) Short, John (Johnna) Jahnsen, Carol (John) Woolsey, Paul Jahnsen, Joe (Wanda) Jahnsen and Jennifer (Mike) Jones; a brother: David (Helen) Salamone; a daughter-in-law: Susan Jahnsen; 32 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son: Jim Jahnsen; and a grandson: Michael Jahnsen.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a funeral Mass at 1 p.m. Monday, April 28, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4696 Notre Dame Drive, in House Springs. Burial will follow in Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery in Cedar Hill. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
