Joseph W. Maurer Jr., 90, of Imperial died March 16, 2024, at the de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis. Mr. Maurer was a chemist for Anheuser Busch. Born Dec. 28, 1933, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Ardel (Kuehner) and Joseph W. Maurer Sr.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Kathleen Maurer.
He is survived by four children: Lori (Jim) Wilbanks of Imperial, Lisa (Monty) Thomas of Weyauwega, Wis., Linda (Denny Green) Maurer of De Soto and Lesli (Mark) Maxson of Pevely; 11 grandchildren: Justin (Todd Olczak) Maurer of Cedarberg, Wis., Nathan (Alicia Dennee) Thomas of Waupaca, Wis., Cole (Jenna) Thomas of Scandinavia, Wis., Donte Wilbanks of Imperial, Jacob Wilbanks of Imperial, Michael (Tammy Wiemann) Clifton of Festus, Kyle Clifton of Festus, Tyler (Emma Fitzgerald) Clifton of Festus, Joshua (Jennie) McKinney of Pevely, Zachary McKinney of Lemay and Sara McKinney of Arnold; and three great-grandchildren: Catherine, Kaitlyn and Delaney.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5225 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 6020 Old Antonia Road, in Imperial. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
