Joseph C. “Joe” Betts, 78, of De Soto died March 5, 2025, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Betts was an assembler for Chrysler for 35 years before retiring. He was a member of UAW Local 110. He loved going to auctions and spending time outdoors. Born Nov. 8, 1946, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Thomas H. Betts and Dolores (Feldman) Betts.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years: Pamela Betts of De Soto; a daughter: Jaime (David) Davey of Bloomington, Ill.; a granddaughter: Justyce Davey of Bloomington, Ill.; and numerous family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Thomas Betts; and a sister: Shirley (Robert) Bassler.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main St., in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of Missouri, 211 N. Broadway, Suite 2035, St. Louis, 63102. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
