Jonas A. Allen, 64, of Dittmer died July 14, 2026, in Fenton. Mr. Allen dedicated his life to serving others as a police officer and detective. He enjoyed helping young people and took pride in being someone they could look up to and depend on. His determination was also evident in his personal life, as he faced numerous health challenges with strength and perseverance, not allowing them to keep him from his love of running. He shared a bond with his dog, Rory Calhoun Allen. He will be remembered for his servant's heart, unwavering resilience and the kindness and compassion he showed to others. Born Aug. 20, 1961, in Kennett, he was the son of the late Shirley Allen and Joyce (Leigh) Allen.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years: Teresa (Thomasson) Allen; a son: Lucas Allen; three siblings: Charleen Stogsdill, Sharon (Dennis) Cordray and Pauline (Jim) Murphy; a stepsister: Vanessa Allen; his mother-in-law: Myrna Thomasson; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by two siblings: Gary Allen and Carl Allen; a brother-in-law: Gary Stogsdill; and his father-in-law: Wendell Thomasson.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until services at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill.
