John Wilson Hobbs, 90, of Festus died Sept. 30, 2025, at Crystal Oaks Nursing Home in Crystal City. Mr. Hobbs was a graduate of the University of Missouri in Columbia. He spent his career as a machinist for Dennis Chemical Co. in St. Louis. He enjoyed traveling, playing golf, fishing, working on his cars and spending time with family. Born July 9, 1935, in Rochester, he was the son of the late Alice (Pickard) and LeRoy Hobbs.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years: Charlene (Sewald) Hobbs; four children: John “Mike” (Julia) Hobbs of Omaha, Neb., Kelly (John) Bridges of Festus, Lori (Timothy) Millichamp of Hillsboro and Christy (Stephen) Conway of St. Louis; eight grandchildren: Jennifer, Angela, John, Stephanie, Taylor, Sarah, Max and Gretchen; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services are private. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
