
John W. Horn Jr., 84, of Imperial died Sept. 17, 2025. Mr. Horn was a retired member and truck driver for Teamsters Local 600 and co-owner of Lock Box Mail Delivery. He also was a member of the Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame, spent 40 years as administrator of Rock Memorial Post 283 Baseball Program, was inducted into the Jefferson County Bowling Association Hall of Fame and was a lifetime member of the Pastime Club of Imperial, including three times as president and 32 years as treasurer. Born Sept. 14, 1941, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Winifred (Mills) Horn and John W. Horn Sr.
He is survived by his wife: Carla J. (Mick) Horn of Imperial; two children: John (Linda) Horn III of De Soto and Tina (Arron) Benne of New Melle; four grandchildren: Zack (Kynze) Horn, Maria (Justin) Marshall, Marissa Benne and Landon Benne; a great-grandchild: Beau Horn; three siblings: Melissa (the late Patrick) Hauschultz of Affton, Harland (Theresa) Horn of Affton and Gert (Vic) Tomiser of south St. Louis County; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a sibling: Donald (Velta survives) Horn; and a grandchild: Luke Horn.
Visitation is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to Mercy South Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
