
John Schneedle, 97, of De Soto died Sept. 18, 2025. Mr. Schneedle was a retired mechanic for Austin Transmission and a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Born Oct. 6, 1927, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Mattie (Fuller) and Frank Schneedle.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Dolores Maxine (Christian) Schneedle.
He is survived by six children: Pat (John) Fischer of De Soto, Loraine (David) Martin of De Soto, Joyce (Bill) Sellers of De Soto, Louis (Phyllis) Schneedle of Potosi, Tim (Susan) Schneedle of Starke, Fla., and Jon (Lisa) Schneedle of De Soto; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by a son-in-law: Joe Fisher; three sisters: Lillian Goldsberry, Genevieve Whitaker and Frances Heidbreder; and two grandsons: Simon Fisher and Jacob Martin.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 1 p.m. until services at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 4423 Hwy. 110, in De Soto, officiated by Scott Whitaker. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
