Rogers, John

John Rogers Jr., 81, of Cedar Hill died April 19, 2025. Mr. Rogers was an avid outdoorsman who was active in his community. He loved fishing, classic cars and bringing people together. For 35 years, he organized and ran the annual trout tournament that became a tradition for many anglers. He will be remembered for his warm spirit and quick wit. Born Jan. 17, 1944, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late John Rogers Sr. and Emma Hunter Rogers.

He is survived by his wife: Debra K. Rogers; three children: Matthew Grither, Kayce (Todd) Litton and Adam Rogers; five grandchildren: Evan Litton, Emma Litton, Evan Singer, Ellie Litton and Aiden Litton; two siblings: Sandra (Roger) Northcutt and Janice (Chris) Bellville; and numerous other family members and friends.

Visitation is scheduled from 3 p.m. until services at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Burial will be held at a later date in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
