John P. Bicklein, 82, of High Ridge died Aug. 13, 2024, after a battle with dementia. Mr. Bicklein was a dedicated machinist for Watlow Electric Co. for 32 years. In his spare time, he followed his passion for flying and became a pilot of gliders and ultralight aircrafts. Born on Aug. 21, 1941, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Lola (Britton) and Walter Bicklein.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Sandra (Hern) Bicklein; two children: Rebecca (Bicklein) Morris of Sarasota, Fla., and Philip Bicklein of High Ridge; five grandchildren: Alexandra Morris, Charles Morris, Blake Morris, Walter Bicklein and Madelyn Bicklein; a brother: Richard (Debbie) Bicklein; and many other family members and friends.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a funeral service at noon Friday, Aug. 16, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill. Memorials may be made on behalf of John Bicklein to Feed My People at feed-my-people.org/donate.
