John M. Ives, 75, of Dittmer died Dec. 5, 2025. Mr. Ives worked for Dieb Enterprises and retired from the U.S. Marine Corps. Born Sept. 22, 1950, in St. Louis, he was the son of Marjorie (Wantland) Ives of Victoria and the late John K. Ives.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his girlfriend: “Queen Bee” Sue Jones; a child: Marla (Jason) Evans De Soto; four siblings: Frank Ives, Nancy Spangler, Susan (Joe) Teague and Jason Ives; two grandchildren: Marshall (Kaitlyn) Kemp and Chance (Rachel) Posey; and six great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Barbara, Eli, Jack, Chase and Charlotte; several nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Kevin Ives.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from noon until a memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
